Shopping at Jonnet’s flea-market is a great example of how you can help support our local economy. Most of the stands are owned by residents of Blairsville and surrounding areas. By purchasing goods from locals, you keep you’re money in the community, so it can be used to improve the quality of life in the community. So, try Jonnet’s and other local businesses before making the trek to one of the superstores of Indiana, Greensburg or the Pittsburgh area.
You can buy many second-hand goods at the flea-market that work as good or better than what you can buy new. By purchasing and selling second-hand goods, you divert those things from the waste- stream as well as the packaging that would come along with their new counterparts. Further, by eliminating the drive to one of the larger surrounding communities, you reduce the amount of automotive-exhaust pollutants in the air – not to mention the gas money saved.
