The Kitchen:

 

Here you will find a wonderful collection of memories:  lunch buckets, milk bottles, a Hoosier Cabinet, wooden potato masher and several heavy irons.  There’s a 1930 blue enamel gas iron that didn’t last long due to the danger it posed.

Map Room

Map Room:

 

      On the wall is an 1891 Waterworks Map made by Antes Snyder and donated by Jane Torrance.

Maps of Cokeville, March l939,  Indiana County coal mines 1809, Blairsville 1938 as well as a framed plan of Blairsville laid out in 1819 are located in this room.

The walls have paintings by local artists and a framed certificate of William F. Johnston’s Commission as Captain in the Blairsville Blues of the Uniformed Militia of PA; 3rd Brigade of the 18th Division,  Aug. 12, 1849.  It is said that he was born in the old stone house at Kingston.  He was later Governor of Pennsylvania.

    Many old photographs are also stored in this room.

 
Ladies Room

The Ladies Bedroom.

 

This room is treasured for the collection of wedding gowns;  one worn by Louisa Lintner Coleman, the other by Paul “Skee” George’s mother.

The Porcelain 4 piece dresser set was a wedding present for J. Edgar and Ellen Lintner on October 10, 1893.

The white Red Cross uniform was donated by Phyllis Gilmore Zack.

Several family photos are here, including one of Lucy Sophie Hacke, wife of John Graff 1806-1871.

All the furniture is from the Lintner estate as are the articles on the dressing

table.

 

The candle sticks on the mantle are from the old Sts. Simon and Jude Church.

Canes:   one with an alligator head has a name plate of Paul Graff; the tall light wood walking stick has a name plate of Henry Antis born 1701 in Bavaria, died 1785 near Pottstown, Pa.  He was the grandfather of Gov. Snyder’s wife.   The medium brown wood cane was made by Albert Baird with wood taken from the canal lock master’s shanty.  Dates 1827 and 1909 are engraved on it.

Children’s Room

The Children’s Room

 

Here you will find the carriage of Minnie Pearl Iseman Lucas, 1876-1950.  There is a lunch box carried by Florence Palmer Foreman born 1892 in Black Lick.

The iron crib is over 75 yrs. old and the room has a variety of photos, along with Robert Lintner’s high chair.
